Port Hadlock

Marina in Lower Hadlock

Port Hadlock is the commercial hub of East Jefferson County, and is located just minutes south of Port Townsend. It is part of the "Tri-Area", which also includes the unincorporated towns of Chimacum and Irondale.
Port Hadlock was established by Samuel Hadlock in 1886 when the area had, at that time, a sawmill and timber business. The timber was carried to other west coast cities on tall sailing ships.
Port Hadlock is the gateway to Marrowstone Island, home to Fort Flagler State Park which is popular with visitors and locals for camping, boating, beach combing, and seafood gathering. Marrowstone Island is located just beyond Indian Island and across the bay from Port Townsend. The Navy operates a major supply depot on Indian Island, and many deer can be seen within the reservation while driving over to Marrowstone Island.
There are a number of county parks and three state parks in the Port Hadlock area for overnight camping, shellfish harvesting in season, picnicking, hiking, beach combing, fishing, and clamming.
Local eateries range from sea food to Mexican to home-style cookin'. You won't go hungry when you stay at the Hadlock Motel!
